Role Overview
The Institutional Partnership Manager is the face of IREU at the ground level. This is a high-energy, field-first role built for someone who thrives on human interaction, believes in the power of convincing conversations, and is passionate about connecting young talent with the startup ecosystem. You will personally visit colleges and universities, meet with principals, HODs, and institutional heads, and secure permissions and slots to conduct IREU's founder-led startup workshops. Beyond outreach, you will be responsible for building and managing all institutional relationships and partnerships that IREU enters into with the academic community.
Key Responsibilities
College & University Outreach
• Personally visit colleges and universities across Bangalore to meet principals, HODs, and decision-makers
• Deliver IREU's outreach pitch confidently, clearly communicating the value of the workshop to the institution and its students
• Handle objections on the spot — covering questions on fees, trust, existing programs, student interest, and scheduling
• Secure permissions, MoUs, or informal approvals to conduct startup workshops on campus
• Identify and approach new institutions proactively — not just the ones on the existing list
Partnership Management
• Own and manage IREU's end-to-end institutional partnership pipeline — from first visit to confirmed workshop slot
• Build long-term relationships with college coordinators, placement cells, entrepreneurship cells, and faculty
• Coordinate with the internal team on scheduling, logistics, and student registration drives
• Explore and negotiate additional collaboration opportunities: recurring sessions, alumni outreach, joint events, and campus ambassador programs
• Maintain a clean, updated record of all institutions visited, follow-up status, and partnership outcomes
Targets & Reporting
• Meet weekly and monthly targets for colleges visited, pitches delivered, and workshops confirmed
• Share daily field updates and weekly reports with the Founder / Head of Growth
• Track conversion rates and continuously improve pitch effectiveness based on field learnings
Who We Are Looking For
We are NOT looking for a back-office executive. We want someone who:
• Has an infectious energy that lights up a room the moment they walk in
• Speaks with confidence, clarity, and conviction — whether in front of a principal or a student panel
• Knows how to listen, adapt, and close — persuasion is second nature to them
• Is genuinely excited about startups, entrepreneurship, and the Indian college ecosystem
• Takes ownership — doesn't wait to be told what to do next
• Is comfortable being on the field every single day, meeting new people, and navigating new campuses
• Aged between 24–27 years, with the hunger of someone just getting started
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in any discipline (MBA preferred but not mandatory)
• 1–3 years of experience in academic sales, business development, EdTech outreach, or institutional relations
• Prior experience in a college-facing or campus-outreach role is a strong advantage
• Fluency in English and Kannada/Hindi for effective communication with institutional heads
• Must own a two-wheeler for field travel across Bangalore
What You Get
• Fixed salary: ₹3.6 – ₹4 LPA based on experience
• Monthly performance incentive
• Travel reimbursement: on actual bills
• Direct access and mentorship from IREU's founders — people actively plugged into IISc and IIT startup ecosystems
• A front-row seat to how a startup builds its community from the ground up
• Fast-track growth opportunities as IREU scales across Bangalore and beyond
A Note on Personality Fit
This role demands a specific kind of person. We are not looking for someone who needs to be managed — we are looking for someone who manages themselves. If you are the kind of person who walks into a stranger's office, makes them smile within two minutes, and walks out with a confirmed date — this role is yours. If you need to be chased for updates or hand-held through objections, this probably isn't the right fit.
We are building something real. We want people who believe in that.
