MAJOR FUNCTION:
Non-licensed person responsible for continuously observing and interpreting patients’ cardiac rhythms (EKG/ECG) and ensuring appropriate and timely alerts / responses to any alarms. Maintains and reports data in a timely manner. Assists in various clerical and communication functions on the nursing unit. Must be knowledgeable of the policies and procedures of the unit & health system.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Previous monitor tech experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
- Certified Telemetry Technician certification preferred.
- Successful Dysrhythmia course completion required.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Able to read, write and speak English.
