Job Description – Inspector Electrical

About The Opportunity
- Location – Various Sites across India
- Inspector Electrical will be responsible for inspection, monitoring, and supervision of electrical works on a greenfield/ brownfield Project (Residential/ Industrial/ Transportation/ Aviation Sectors)
- Inspect and monitor execution of electrical systems, including but not limited to
- Power distribution (LT/HT panels, transformers, switchgear)
- Cable trays, conduits, cabling, earthing and lightning protection
- Lighting systems (internal, external, roadway, aviation/industrial lighting)
- Electrical equipment installation and termination
- Backup power systems (DG sets, UPS – electrical scope)
Ensure electrical works are executed in compliance with- Approved IFC drawings
- Technical specifications
- Method statements and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs)
- Applicable Indian and international codes and standards
- Conduct inspection of materials and workmanship, verify test results, and ensure quality compliance with relevant standards.
- Monitor site progress and identify quality, safety, coordination, or schedule issues, reporting findings with recommendations for corrective actions.
- Review contractor shop drawings, technical submittals, method statements, test reports related to electrical works and assist in certification of payments.
- Witness and support electrical testing, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities, including insulation resistance testing, continuity, functional testing, and energization support.
- Coordinate with contractors, civil/ mechanical inspectors, consultants, and client representatives to ensure smooth interfacing of electrical works with other disciplines
- Maintain daily site inspection records, photographs, NCRs, punch lists, and progress inputs, and support preparation of weekly and monthly reports.
- Ensure all electrical works are executed in compliance with project HSE requirements, including electrical safety practices, and report unsafe conditions or practices observed on site
- Review and advise approval for technical submittals, method statements, certification of payments.
Here's what you'll need
About You
- Graduate in Electrical Engineering with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience or
Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 8 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience working on electrical execution and inspection for Residential/ Industrial/ Infrastructure/ Transportation/ Aviation projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction practices, including power distribution, cabling, earthing, lighting, and electrical equipment installation.
- Hands‑on experience in site inspections, material verification, workmanship checks, and quality documentation for electrical works.
- Familiarity with relevant IS / IEC / IEEE / project‑specific electrical standards and codes
- Ability to read, interpret, and verify electrical drawings, specifications, method statements, and ITPs.
- Exposure to electrical testing and commissioning activities is desirable.
- Good communication and coordination skills to work effectively with contractors, engineers, QA/QC teams, and client representatives.
- Detail‑oriented, safety‑conscious, disciplined, and comfortable working in active construction site environments, including remote or high‑risk locations
