Seward, Nebraska | Fully On-Site | $130,000–$170,000 Base + Bonus
If you're a strong manufacturing accountant who knows cost and inventory accounting inside and out—and you're looking for a role with real ownership, visibility, and room to grow—this is an opportunity worth exploring.
We're conducting a confidential search for a Financial Controller to join a brand-new manufacturing operation in Seward, Nebraska. The facility is being built now and is backed by an established, successful dairy organization, offering the rare combination of a true build opportunity and the stability of an experienced business behind it.
Why this opportunity stands out
- Join before production fully ramps and help establish strong accounting discipline from the beginning.
- Own the accounting areas that matter most in a manufacturing environment—cost, inventory, close, GL, reconciliations, controls, and reporting.
- Work directly with the CFO, COO, Plant Manager, and ownership in a highly visible role.
- Use financial analysis to uncover cost savings, inefficiencies, margin opportunities, and better ways of doing business.
- Work within NetSuite and help strengthen reporting and financial visibility as the operation scales.
- Grow with an expanding finance organization as both the plant and branded-products business develop.
What you’ll own
- Full-cycle accounting for the manufacturing operation, including month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial accuracy.
- Manufacturing cost accounting, including standards, product costing, labor and overhead, variances, and key cost drivers.
- Inventory accounting, including valuation, reconciliations, physical inventories/cycle counts, adjustments, reserves, and variance investigation.
- Internal controls and disciplined accounting processes appropriate for a growing manufacturing business.
- Timely, useful reporting for executive and plant leadership, with the ability to explain what is driving the numbers.
- Analysis of trends, variances, costs, and opportunities to improve profitability.
What we’re looking for
- Strong manufacturing or plant accounting experience.
- Deep hands-on cost accounting and inventory accounting expertise.
- Solid ownership of month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, and full-cycle accounting.
- Ability to investigate variances, understand manufacturing cost drivers, and turn financial information into useful business insight.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior leadership.
- ERP experience; NetSuite is a strong plus, but not required.
- A hands-on, accountable mindset and interest in building something for the long term.
Relevant backgrounds may include food and beverage, dairy, CPG, ingredients, protein, agricultural processing, packaging, industrial manufacturing, or other plant-based environments. What matters most is the depth of your manufacturing accounting experience—particularly cost and inventory accounting.

- $130,000–$170,000 base salary, depending on experience
- Annual bonus opportunity
- 100% employer-paid family medical insurance
- Dental and vision coverage
- PTO
- Relocation assistance available for the right candidate
