Position Overview:
INNIO is looking to add a HR Generalist to work within our HR team at our Trenton, NJ office. The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting a wide range of human resources functions for assigned business group(s). Key responsibilities include assistance in managing employee relations, supporting performance management processes, coordinating onboarding and offboarding activities, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and internal policies. This role also involves maintaining accurate personnel records, supporting immigration and audit-related matters, and assisting with timesheets/payroll processing and HR special projects as well as administration support to the site as needed.
The HR Generalist contributes to policy development, labor law compliance, and the maintenance of HR systems and documentation.
In addition, the HR Generalist manages the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and offer preparation for their assigned business groups. This responsibility also includes managing relationships with internal stakeholders and external recruiting partners to ensure a professional and efficient hiring experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage employee relations for assigned business group.
  • Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection process for assigned business group(s), including managing internal and external recruiting support, posting jobs, candidate screening, interview coordination, applicant tracking, preparing and drafting offers, etc.
  • Assist in the management of the U.S. Tuition Reimbursement and U.S. Leave of Absence programs.
  • Support managers in the performance review processes.
  • Support the onboarding process for assigned business group to ensure a smooth and effective transition for new hires, including:
    • Identify and participate in opportunities for operationalizing and streamlining offer-to-first day process, including systems, automation, internal/external communications and overall process.
    • Host new hire orientation and Executive Leader introduction sessions within assigned groups/locations.
    • Work with hiring manager and cross-functional departments to ensure new hires are appropriately set up for first day (IT, payroll, workspace, etc.)
    • Manage the 7, 30 and 90 new hire check-ins for assigned business group.
    • Own the background check program to include vendor management, background check packages, state compliance, FCRA process, etc.
  • Assist in responding to audits, employment verifications, surveys, etc.
  • Support the offboarding process for assigned business group.
  • Support immigration/compliance matters.
  • Oversee employee personnel files, perform periodic audits of files and records to ensure all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Manage labor law poster program, including vendor management and posting compliance.
  • Assist in developing and updating HR policies and procedures.
  • Support timesheet review and payroll processing as needed.
  • Provide back-up support to team members as needed.
  • Assist with HR special projects.
Education, Experience & Skills
  • Bachelors’ degree in Human Resources or a related field with 5+ years of HR experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Demonstrated experience with HRIS systems (Workday, Jobvite, ADP preferred).
  • Process improvement & project management experience.
  • Prior experience in a global matrixed structure a plus.
  • Ability to work independently on assignments.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication ability.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to follow up on matters quickly.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Forms).
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
