Industrial Assistant Account Manager
Job Summary
The Industrial Assistant Account Manager supports the Outside Sales team by providing research, administrative coordination, technical assistance, and high-quality customer service for assigned accounts. This role strengthens customer relationships, supports sales strategy execution, and ensures accurate communication of product information, pricing, availability, and processes. Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while contributing to sales growth and customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions
Sales Support & Account Coordination

Provide administrative, research, and customer service support to the Outside Sales team for assigned industrial and contractor accounts.

Assist with maintaining and supporting sales plans, account strategies, and territory objectives.

Accurately record sales activities, customer interactions, and program participation (including IMARK or similar initiatives) in accordance with company requirements.

Support sales goals and profitability objectives by assisting with quotes, follow-ups, and account coordination.
Customer Relationship & Communication

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with new and existing industrial, residential, and contractor customers.

Represent Inline Electric Supply product lines and services while delivering best-in-class customer service via phone, email, and written correspondence.

Serve as a point of contact for customer inquiries related to product availability, pricing, delivery status, backorders, and procedures.

Assist in resolving customer concerns by coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, and sales leadership as appropriate.
Product Knowledge & Technical Support

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company product offerings, pricing structures, inventory availability, and value-added services.

Provide product information and support during supplier evaluation meetings and internal sales discussions.

Assist with completing or supporting take-offs from electrical drawings and submit required information to the appropriate quotation or project teams.

Support sales and management with research and data related to customer product needs and project requirements.
Account Analysis & Issue Resolution

Identify, track, and assist in evaluating problem accounts within the assigned territory.

Collaborate with sales leadership, internal departments, and suppliers to develop resolution strategies.

Coordinate with the credit department to support proper credit practices while maintaining positive customer relationships.
Sales Operations & Compliance

Support territory profitability goals by assisting with pricing accuracy, documentation, and order coordination.

Exercise sound judgment, discretion, and independent decision-making within defined authority to support sales objectives.

Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the department manager or leadership team.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field preferred.

Two to five years of prior electrical sales or industry-related experience may substitute for educational requirements.

Valid driver’s license with an approved, clean motor vehicle record.
