Data Business Analyst

As a Senior Data Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in guiding clients in designing Data Management solutions. Leveraging your blend of business acumen and technical expertise, you will assist clients in capturing requirements, understanding, and profiling data, and defining target state solutions. Additionally, you will be instrumental in creating and managing a product backlog, actively participating and leading sprint planning, prioritization, and backlog grooming sessions.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate discussions with clients to gather and structure information effectively.
• Assist clients in agreeing on the scope of work and milestones.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop a comprehensive delivery plan.
• Gather and document business requirements for data management initiatives.
• Drive the requirements gathering process, ensuring alignment with the delivery of business value and solution architecture.
• Comprehend the business context and build conceptual, logical models, and dimensional modeling based on it.
• Perform data profiling, linking data realities to requirements, and assessing data quality.
• Define a complete end-to-end data flow and produce a data mapping sheet capturing all pertinent business scenarios.
• Implement best practices such as bitemporal versioning and construction of immutable products.
• Conduct workshops with Business SMEs, Data Owners, and Business Owners to formulate data management solutions for the target state.
• Define the target data solution based on data modeling/design best practices.
• Lead requirement prioritization and planning.
• Create and manage the product backlog and develop data mastering solutions.
• Define conceptual and logical data models.
• Define and validate solution success criteria and integrate them within the product backlog.
• Define and validate test strategies and test cases with the business.
• Work closely with the technical team to define the physical data model.

What we're looking for in our applicants:

• At least 8 years of relevant experience, with a robust background in project work related to Data, BI/Analytics, and Data Warehousing.
• In-depth knowledge of data management/data governance concepts, approaches, methodologies, and tools. Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK is considered an asset.
• Practical experience of implementing Data Management platforms, Data Lakes/Warehouses, or Data Governance solutions.
• Stakeholder Management experience in a high-paced business environment.
• Project Management skills in Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, PMI methodologies.
• Detailed analytical approach; logical, precise thinker; clear and concise communicator.
• Strong time management skills; efficient at multi-tasking and able to work under pressure.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Autonomous and able to work independently.
