Key Responsibilities
• Define and lead the IT infrastructure strategy and adoption of solutions for system, network, and connectivity
o E.g., Standard Operating Environment, Virtualization and high-performance storage, MPLS/SD-WAN/VPN interconnections between sites and data centers/cloud, Communication stack etc.
• Build and update the infrastructure roadmap, by considering the requirements/ needs of the organization
o E.g., security focus, on premise/ hybrid infrastructure, standardization at group level and optimization of the total costs of ownership, robust and scalable implementations, efficiency/ real productivity gains, potential use of open-source tools etc.
• Strengthen monitoring, automation, and proactive observability capabilities
o Perform assessments on the infrastructure health (e.g., capacity sizing, performance) and lead initiatives for driving improvements
o Work on building a mindset focused on preventive maintenance and lead the adoption of new tools that will facilitate the transformation
• Orchestrate the "bridge" between on-premise systems and the cloud, ensuring the cloud is used where it adds value without creating unnecessary dependency
• Design high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies
• Oversee the impact on infrastructure for business-driven projects, lead the technical design for the infra parts/ run POCs
• Oversee software integration and deployment from an infrastructure perspective
• Design the "Site-in-a-Box"/ templates, e.g., by covering localized compute, UPS systems, Point-of-Sale (POS) hardware resilience etc. for stores, warehouses and offices
• Lead the modernization efforts by overseeing the lifecycle of the products in use, performing assessments/ providing recommendations & raising awareness, and most important driving new/ existing initiatives
• Will partner with international vendors in defining and/or implementing solutions
• Architect network segmentation and "Zero Trust" zones
• Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS and global data privacy regulations (GDPR)
Technical Environment
• On-Prem Infrastructure: VMware vSphere, Proxmox, SAN storage
• Cloud: hybrid architecture background and experience in one major cloud platform (AWS/ Azure etc.)
• Networking & Security: SD-WAN, Load Balancing, Zero Trust frameworks
• Automation & Scripting: PowerShell
• Monitoring & Observability: Splunk, PRTG etc.
• Operating Systems: Windows & Linux
• Data Platforms: Knowledge on any of the following platforms - Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL (“Always-On” clusters)
• Directory Services: Active Directory (group-level governance and unification)
• Edge Computing: POS systems and IoT hardware environments
• Modern Workplace: Secure communication and remote access strategies
• Containers: Knowledge on Kubernetes (AKS/EKS) orchestration
Profile & Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years designing/ driving complex infrastructure implementations
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Proven experience managing mission-critical infrastructure and external providers
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Experience working in multinational and multicultural environments
• Solid knowledge of ITIL and project management methodologies
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management capabilities
• Advanced English proficiency required; Intermediary French (Added Advantage)
