Job Title: Infrastructure Architect – Azure Governance & Migration

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Architect to lead the design, governance, and strategic direction of Azure infrastructure as the organization transitions from on-premises systems to a cloud-first model.
This role will play a critical part in defining infrastructure standards, ensuring secure and scalable cloud adoption, and guiding migration and modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Infrastructure Governance & Standards
- Define and implement Azure infrastructure standards and guardrails
- Establish best practices for:
- Identity & Access Management (RBAC, PIM)
- Networking & security architecture
- Encryption & data protection
- Environment isolation
2. Cloud & Hybrid Migration Strategy
- Design target-state Azure architecture
- Lead on-prem to Azure migration planning and execution
- Define migration patterns, sequencing, and coexistence strategies
3. Architectural Leadership
- Own infrastructure architecture decisions and trade-offs
- Define network topology, security boundaries, and admin models
- Create scalable and secure infrastructure frameworks
4. Reference Architecture & Design Patterns
- Develop reusable Azure reference architectures
- Provide implementation guidelines for engineering teams
5. Risk & Compliance Management
- Identify risks related to:
- Security
- Availability
- Operational complexity
- Define mitigation strategies and governance controls
6. Design Reviews & Oversight
- Review infrastructure designs and implementations
- Ensure alignment with approved architecture and standards
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with security, DevOps, and operations teams
- Drive alignment across stakeholders
Immediate Priorities (First 3–6 Months)
- Establish Azure infrastructure guardrails
- Define landing zone architecture and governance model
- Provide oversight for initial cloud implementations
- Guide migration decisions and dependencies
- Set up architectural review and exception processes
Long-Term Responsibilities
- Ensure consistency of infrastructure as cloud adoption scales
- Continuously evolve governance frameworks
- Promote risk-based architectural decision-making
- Maintain architectural documentation and continuity
Required Skills & Experience
- 12+ years in IT Infrastructure, with strong Azure expertise
- Deep knowledge of:
- Azure Networking & Security
- Identity Management (RBAC, PIM)
- Experience in defining infrastructure governance models
- Proven experience in cloud migration (on-prem to Azure)
- Strong understanding of enterprise-scale architecture
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in hybrid cloud environments
- Exposure to large-scale enterprise transformations
- Experience in infrastructure modernization initiatives
