Role Overview
TicketNetwork is currently seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of Windows server administration, Active Directory, AWS and Azure, experience supporting cloud-native applications, and possesses strong troubleshooting skills and technical aptitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide enterprise‑wide technical support for a diverse portfolio of business‑critical applications across on‑prem and AWS environments, including application configuration, server hardening and security, issue diagnosis and resolution, and ongoing application support.
- Deliver Tier 2 technical support for underlying IT infrastructure and escalated user issues spanning AWS, Windows servers, and core infrastructure services, performing root cause analysis and escalating complex issues to engineering teams as required.
- Act as first responder for technical incidents involving custom applications, SQL Server, IIS, TLS/SSL certificates, and related infrastructure deployed both on‑premises and in AWS (EC2, networking, storage).
- Design, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, leveraging Terraform and Git‑based workflows to ensure repeatable, auditable, and secure infrastructure provisioning.
- Configure and maintain Windows servers, application services, scripts, and automation tools, partnering with development teams to support automated code deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams and third‑party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve complex application and infrastructure issues across hybrid environments.
- Monitor system and application performance against defined SLAs, including AWS workloads, and take proactive steps to optimize performance, availability, and cost.
- Contribute to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by ensuring infrastructure, cloud architecture, security, and operational requirements are addressed early in project design and implementation.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including operational procedures, troubleshooting guides, and architectural standards, to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
- Participate in technical on‑call rotations and provide after‑hours support for critical infrastructure and application incidents.
- Prepare and deliver clear, data‑driven presentations to management and stakeholders, outlining system performance, incident analysis, cloud architecture decisions, and recommendations for technical or process improvements.
Core Skill Alignment and Responsibilities
Strong troubleshooting background
- First responder for incidents involving custom applications, SQL Server, IIS, certificates, and related infrastructure.
- Perform root cause analysis for escalated application, server, and cloud issues.
- Troubleshoot hybrid environments spanning AWS, on‑prem Windows, Vmware, and application services.
Ability to meet SLAs in a fast‑paced environment
- Monitor application and system performance against defined SLAs.
- Provide rapid incident response across production systems.
- Participate in on‑call rotation supporting critical workloads.
Detail‑oriented and customer‑focused
- Document procedures, standards, and troubleshooting steps for team knowledge base.
- Partner with application teams and stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently.
- Deliver clear, non‑technical communication during incidents and change activities.
Windows server administration
- Configure and maintain Windows servers, IIS, and application services.
- Implement hardening and security best practices.
- Support automated deployment and OS configuration standards.
Active Directory administration
- Support authentication, access control, and service account configuration.
- Troubleshoot application dependencies on AD, certificates, and identity services.
- Enforce security and least‑privilege practices.
Cloud‑native (Azure & AWS) administration
- Provide support for applications deployed in AWS and Azure.
- Diagnose cloud networking, compute, and storage issues.
- Participate in cloud design reviews and SDLC discussions.
Experience automating routine tasks
- Support Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for AWS provisioning.
- Use Git‑based workflows to manage infrastructure changes.
- Assist developers with automated code push and deployment processes.
Maintaining cloud‑based applications
- Support production applications hosted in AWS and Azure.
- Monitor performance, availability, and capacity.
- Coordinate cloud‑specific incident response and remediation.
VMware (vCenter, Horizon)
- Tier 2 infrastructure support in hybrid environments.
- Troubleshoot virtualization‑related performance and availability issues.
- Collaborate with platform teams managing VMware enterprise services.
Linux experience
- Support Linux‑based services alongside Windows workloads.
- Troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues across heterogeneous OS platforms.
- Participate in automation and scripting efforts.
SQL Server experience
- First responder for SQL Server performance and availability issues.
- Troubleshoot application/database interactions.
- Assist with load, capacity, and connectivity analysis.
Required Experience Alignment
- 3+ years in an IT support role
- Tier 2 enterprise application and infrastructure support.
- Escalation handling, RCA, and cross‑team coordination.
