Location: Chennai, India (Hybrid, post-probation)
Function: Internal IT
Experience: 1–4 years
About the RoleOrbis Systems is hiring an IT Analyst based in Chennai to be the go-to person for internal IT support across our global teams in Finland, the US, India, and China. This is an internal IT role — you'll be supporting Orbis's own colleagues, not external customers — mostly through remote troubleshooting, day-to-day systems administration, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
This role offers strong exposure to enterprise IT tools and practices, with room to grow into broader systems administration, IT security, and Microsoft 365 platform ownership as your skills develop. It's a great entry point for someone who wants to build a long-term career across IT operations and security.
Key Responsibilities• Create and manage user accounts in Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID for new employees
• Administer Microsoft 365 licensing — assignment, management, and basic troubleshooting
• Monitor and maintain endpoint device health across the global user base (patching, performance, compliance status)
• Resolve L1-level IT support tickets: hardware, software, connectivity, and access issues
• Provide remote troubleshooting and monitoring support for employees across all global Orbis locations
• Manage file server permissions and access requests
• Troubleshoot VPN connectivity issues for remote and site-based users
• Support Microsoft Teams and SharePoint — access management, permissions, and basic configuration
• Handle IT onboarding (account creation, license assignment, device provisioning, access setup) and offboarding (deactivation, access revocation, asset recovery)
• Escalate L2/L3 issues to the appropriate teams with clear, well-documented handoffs
• Maintain accurate IT asset and ticket records
• Assist in drafting and maintaining internal IT policies and documentation (access control, device usage, onboarding/offboarding SOPs, etc.)
• Monitor system and security logs for unusual activity, and flag anomalies to the IT security team
• Take on additional Microsoft 365 administration areas and IT process improvements as skills develop
Required Skills• Hands-on experience with Active Directory (user and account management)
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 admin center (licensing, mailbox basics)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, Teams administration, and SharePoint permissions
• Basic troubleshooting skills: VPN, network connectivity, endpoint/device issues
• Strong written and verbal English communication — this role involves daily coordination with global internal teams across different time zones and cultures
• Exposure to a ticketing/ITSM tool (Zoho or similar)
Nice to Have• Exposure to Windows Autopilot / Microsoft Intune for device enrolment and endpoint management
• Curiosity about IT security — log analysis, threat basics, or a security certification you're working toward (not required, just a bonus)
• General interest in expanding into broader systems administration or platform tools (e.g. NetSuite, Power Automate) over time
Work Arrangement• General office hours, based in Chennai
• One day per week may require support during out-of-office hours to align with global time zones
• Hybrid working model — applicable after successful completion of the probation period
Ideal Candidate Profile• 1–4 years of total IT support / administration experience
• Comfortable working independently and communicating directly with global internal teams
• Detail-oriented enough to write clear documentation and spot something off in a log file
• Eager to learn and grow into a broader IT systems or IT security role over time
