ROLEOVERVIEW
The Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) will serve as the technical authority and strategic advisor for the end- to-end migration program transitioning the organization's Informatica PowerCenter landscape to IDMC (Intelligent Data Management Cloud). The SME will be responsible for defining the migration approach, leading complex technicaldecisions,drivingarchitecturalstandards,andensuringahigh-quality,low-riskmigrationdelivery.Thisis a senior individual contributor and leader role that demands both deep Informatica product expertise and strong consulting acumen.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Migration Strategy & Planning
- Defineanddocumenttheend-to-endmigrationstrategy,phasingapproach,andexecutionroadmapfor PowerCenter to IDMC migration
- Lead the discovery and assessment of the existing PowerCenter asset landscape – mappings, workflows, transformations, sessions, parameters, and scheduling dependencies
- Categorizeassetsbycomplexity,risk,andmigrationapproach:automatedconversion,manualre- development, or decommissioning
- Identifyanddocumenttechnicaldebt,deprecatedfeatures,andunsupportedconstructsthatrequirere- engineering
Definescopeboundaries,migrationwaves,androllbackstrategiesforeachphase.
Architecture & Solution Design
- Design cloud-native integration architectures on IDMC leveraging CDI (Cloud Data Integration), CAI (Cloud Application Integration), and relevant connectors
- EvaluateandrecommendappropriateIDMCruntimeenvironments:HostedAgentvsSecureAgentvs Serverless runtime
- Define data in gestion patterns–batch, micro-batch, CDC, and streaming–and map the set o IDMC capabilities
- Establishtarget-statereferencearchitectures,dataflowpatterns,andintegrationbestpracticesfortheIDMC platform
- Drivedecisionsonparameterizationstrategies,errorhandlingstandards,andrestart/recovery design patterns.
Technical Delivery Leadership
- Lead the conversion and re-engineering of complex mappings, reusable transformations ,mapplets ,and workflows from PowerCenter to IDMC
- Reviewandapproveallmigrationdeliverablesfortechnicalaccuracy,performancestandards,and adherence to target-state architecture
- Conducthands-ondevelopmentandPOCsforcomplexmigrationscenariosrequiringnovelsolutions
- Driveperformancetesting,benchmarking,andtuningforcriticaldatapipelinespost-migration
- Overseedatareconciliationframeworksensuringsource-to-targetdataparityandqualityvalidation.
Governance & Quality
- Establishcodingstandards,namingconventions,anddesignpatternsforIDMCdevelopment
- Implementtechnicalgovernanceincludingcodereviewprocesses,designcheckpoints,andmigration acceptance criteria
- Contributetotheknowledgebase,migrationplaybook,andlessons-learneddocumentation
- Drive automation of repetitive migration tasks using IDMC REST APIs and Mass Ingestion features where applicable.
Mentoring &Stakeholder Engagement
- MentorandupskilljuniordevelopersandseniordevelopersonIDMCconcepts,features,andmigrationbest practices
- Engage with business stakeholders, data owners, and downstream consumers to align on migration scope, timelines, and acceptance criteria
- Work alongside the Project Manager for risk identification, dependency tracking, and technical escalation management
- CoordinatewithInformaticavendorteamforproduct-specificguidance,bugresolution,andfeatureroadmap alignment
REQUIRED SKILLS:
PREFERRED/GOOD-TO-HAVESKILLS
- 8+yearsofInformaticaexpertisewithdeephands- on knowledge of PowerCenter(Designer, Workflow Manager, Monitor, Repository Manager)
- Experience with Informatica CDGC(Cloud Data Governance& Catalog)or Axon Data Governance
- Demonstrated experience leading at least 2 full- lifecycle Informatica migration programs (PC to IICS/IDMC preferred)
- Knowledge of API-based integrations and real-time
/event-driven data processing
- In-depth knowledge of IDMC/IICS – CDI, CAI, Secure Agent, Connection management, advanced mappings
- Familiarity with Informatica Mass Ingestion for high- volume data movement
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT design patterns: SCD, CDC, full load, delta, upsert, and error handling understanding of data architectural concepts mesh and data fabric
- Cloud platform expertise: Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or GCP Dataflow (at integration touchpoints)
- Exposure to MDM (Master Data Management) on Informatica platform
- Advanced SQL–performance tuning, query optimization, stored procedures

- Knowledge of DevOps practices: Git,CI/CD pipelines for IDMC deployments
- Experience designing data reconciliation and data quality validation frameworks
- Informatica Certified Developer / Architect certification
- Strong communication skills–able to articulate technical concepts to business stakeholders
