We have an opportunity for a GL Accountant to join our Finance – International Accounting team in Bangalore, reporting to the Senior Manager – Accounting. In this pivotal role, you will ensure accurate accounting, financial reporting, and compliance for multiple global entities. Collaborating closely with Payroll, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Tax, HR, FP&A, and external consultants, you will support global accounting operations, statutory requirements, and financial controls in a fast-paced, multinational environment.

Be a Contributor — What You’ll Do

  • Monitor and review general ledger entries to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare journal entries including prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets capitalization, depreciation, allocations, tax, and cash management
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain roll-forward schedules
  • Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and transfer pricing adjustments
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities within established timelines
  • Ensure compliance with internal audit (IA) and SOX control requirements
  • Assist with statutory and tax audits and explain supporting schedules to auditors
  • Perform flux analysis on key balance sheet accounts and identify trends or variances
  • Coordinate with Payroll, Treasury, Tax, HR, and FP&A to validate financial transactions
  • Support direct and indirect tax filings, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance
  • Act as the point of contact for foreign subsidiaries on accounting matters
  • Support tax provision calculations including withholding and advance taxes
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and help implement best practices

Be Prepared — What You Bring

  • 5+ years of finance or accounting reporting experience
  • Experience supporting international accounting operations in SSC/COE environments
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS accounting standards
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise systems (preferably Oracle Fusion, Oracle, or SAP)
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage competing priorities
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • High attention to detail, accountability, and problem-solving capability
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance
    CA/CPA/CMA/CA-Inter/CWA/ACS-Inter preferred

Be Successful — Your Path

First 90 Days:

  • Immerse in our culture, connect with Blox Buddies, understand accounting workflows, systems, and key stakeholders, and establish short- and long-term goals.

Six Months:

  • Become conversant with regulatory requirements for assigned EMEA or South America entities
  • Independently process journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting in Oracle Fusion
  • Respond to internal and external accounting queries independently
  • Understand upstream and downstream impacts of accounting estimates

One Year:

  • Independently manage statutory and ad-hoc audits for assigned entities
  • Drive process improvements across accounting and compliance activities
  • Partner with IT on Oracle Fusion enhancements and issue resolution
  • Support entity-level tax and secretarial projects
  • Identify root causes of balance sheet discrepancies and implement corrective actions
