Detailed Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Infoblox Subject Matter Expert (SME) with 5 to 8 years of experience in managing and maintaining network services, including DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (DDI). The role involves configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting Infoblox appliances to ensure network reliability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configuration & Management:
- Configure and manage Infoblox appliances, including DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (IPAM) services.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
- Continuously monitor network performance, identify issues, and perform troubleshooting to maintain optimal functionality.
- Security Management:
- Implement and enforce security policies to safeguard network infrastructure and services.
- Upgrades & Patching:
- Perform regular upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities on Infoblox appliances to ensure systems are up-to-date.
- Backup & Restore:
- Execute backup and restore operations to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Incident Management:
- Monitor security events, respond to threats, and resolve incidents effectively.
- Problem Resolution:
- Troubleshoot complex issues, document root causes, and provide permanent fixes.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, processes, and changes. Generate reports on network performance and security metrics.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with network engineers, IT teams, and stakeholders to ensure seamless network operations and stability.
Required Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with DNS, DHCP, and IPAM technologies
- Experience with Infoblox products (e.g., NIOS)
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and related protocols
- Proficiency in command-line interfaces and scripting languages
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Secondary Skills – Network:
- Monitor and manage network LAN infrastructure, including DHCP, DNS, WINS, VLANs, QoS, NAC, Wireless LANs, load balancers, IPAM, and network segmentation
- Perform troubleshooting to ensure LAN availability and performance
- Provide support for IP address management and DNS services
- Work with routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP, and ISIS, and switching protocols like STP and RSTP
- Participate in on-call rotations, handling Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents with immediate resolution
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement long-term fixes
- Provide Level 3 support and ensure issue resolution within SLA timelines
