Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

 

Demonstrates written, interpersonal, or communication skills as appropriate to position

 

3 of the most recent 5 years’ experience in sterile processing

 

Working knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment

 

Licensure, Registration, Certification: 

 

Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)

 

Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) through the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)*

 

Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) through Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)*

 

*CIS and CER certifications must be obtained within 12 months of placement into position

 

Desired Qualifications:

Associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field

Responsibilities

Coordinates the availability, tracking, maintenance, and repair of instruments and equipment in the sterile processing department in accordance with Infirmary Health (IH) standards and external compliance requirements.
