About the Role
We’re on the lookout for a skilled and driven Backend Lead with deep expertise in Python to join our engineering team in Mumbai. In this leadership role, you’ll drive the architecture, development, and scalability of our backend systems, ensuring robust and high-performing platforms as we scale.

Responsibilities

1. Lead the design, development, and deployment of backend services and APIs using Python
2. Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems
3. Collaborate closely with frontend, product, and DevOps teams
4. Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and best practices
5. Evaluate and integrate new tools, frameworks, and technologies
6. Own system reliability, performance, and uptime
7. Define backend engineering standards and ensure their implementation across the team

Requirements

1. 5+ years of backend development experience, with at least 2+ years in a lead or senior role
2. Strong proficiency in Python and frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI
3. Solid experience with databases (SQL & NoSQL), caching, and background job processing
4. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
5. Experience in building and scaling distributed systems
6. Strong problem-solving and communication skills
7. A team player who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

1. Experience with microservices architecture
2. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
3. Previous experience in a high-growth startup environment
