Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Industrial Product Designer role based in Indore. The Industrial Product Designer will translate concepts and client requirements into functional and aesthetically appealing metal products, including outdoor furniture, architectural elements, and custom metal structures. Daily responsibilities include conducting user and market research, creating sketches, 3D models, and technical drawings, and collaborating closely with the design, production, and sales teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturability. The person in this role will refine designs based on feedback, support prototyping and sample development, and ensure that final products meet quality, safety, and cost parameters. The role also involves maintaining design documentation, coordinating with vendors as needed, and contributing to continuous improvement in design processes and product innovation.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Product Design and Design Thinking, with the ability to take concepts from idea to production-ready designs.
- Experience with User Research and UX Research to understand customer needs, usage contexts, and ergonomic requirements for industrial and outdoor products.
- Proficiency in Visual Design, including form development, aesthetics, color, and material finishes suitable for metal products and outdoor environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience with CAD and 3D modeling tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Rhino, or similar) and preparation of technical drawings for manufacturing.
- Understanding of metal fabrication processes (e.g., casting, welding, machining, finishing) and ability to design for manufacturability and durability.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with designers, engineers, craftsmen, sales teams, and clients.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a portfolio demonstrating industrial or product design work, preferably involving metal or architectural products.
