Industrial Power Solutions is seeking a motivated CAD Tech to join our Electrical Design Team supporting the development and production of UL 508A electrical control panels. The CAD Tech will support the creation of accurate electrical drawings, panel layouts, schematics, and production documentation used in the fabrication of UL-certified control panels.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the development of electrical drawing packages and production documentation for UL 508A control panels
• Collaborate with engineers, panel builders, project managers, and production teams to support project execution
• Produce accurate CAD drawings including electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and control system documentation
• Assist with revisions, updates, and coordination of electrical documentation throughout project lifecycles
• Maintain organization and accuracy of project files and drawing standards
• Support production and fabrication teams by ensuring drawings are clear, accurate, and constructible
UL 508A Panel Design Support
• Assist in the development of drawings and layouts for UL-certified industrial control panels
• Support electrical load calculations, component layouts, and panel arrangement documentation
• Work alongside engineering and production teams to ensure compliance with UL 508A and NEC standards
• Develop and maintain bill of materials BOM documentation and panel schedules
• Support Factory Acceptance Testing FAT documentation and drawing revisions as required
Training and Development
• Participate in comprehensive training programs designed for both experienced professionals and recent graduates
• Receive hands-on mentorship from experienced engineers and electrical professionals
• Develop proficiency in CAD software, electrical drafting standards, and industrial control panel design principles
• Build technical and professional skills through real-world project exposure and continuous learning opportunities
Technology and Design Tools
• Utilize CAD software and electrical drafting tools to support innovative and efficient panel designs
• Work with advanced design resources used throughout industrial electrical manufacturing and construction environments
• Support the production of accurate and organized electrical documentation packages
Project Exposure
• Gain experience supporting industrial electrical projects across manufacturing, power distribution, water management, and industrial construction sectors
• Contribute to projects involving UL-certified control systems and industrial automation equipment
• Develop practical experience supporting both engineering and panel fabrication operations

Minimum Job Requirements
• Interest in electrical drafting, industrial controls, or electrical engineering support work
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Basic computer proficiency and willingness to develop CAD software skills
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
• Degree or coursework related to electrical engineering, drafting, CAD technology, or a related field
• Previous CAD or electrical drafting experience preferred but not required
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or Revit is a plus
• Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems, UL standards, or control panels preferred
Physical Requirements
• Ability to work at a computer workstation for extended periods of time
• Must be able to sit, stand, and move throughout the office as needed
• Occasional shop or jobsite visits may be required depending on project needs
