Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Industrial Fitter role based in Surat. The Industrial Fitter will install, assemble, align, and maintain machinery, equipment, and mechanical components according to technical drawings and specifications. Daily responsibilities include performing routine inspections, identifying mechanical issues, replacing or repairing faulty parts, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. The role involves using hand tools and power tools, working with bearings, shafts, couplings, and other mechanical assemblies, and coordinating with supervisors and other technicians to schedule and complete work orders. The Industrial Fitter will also be expected to follow workplace safety procedures, maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, and support continuous improvement in plant reliability.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in fitting, assembling, and maintaining industrial machinery and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and maintenance manuals.
- Skill in using hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and alignment tools safely and accurately.
- Knowledge of basic preventive maintenance practices and troubleshooting techniques for mechanical systems.
- Understanding of workplace safety standards, safe handling of tools and equipment, and adherence to PPE requirements.
- Relevant technical qualification or vocational training in mechanical/industrial fitting or a similar trade discipline.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or plant maintenance environment is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members, follow instructions, and complete tasks within set timelines.
