Job Description: Industrial Engineering Manager
Function: Manufacturing
Location:
Qualification: B.E/B.Tech in Industrial / Mechanical Engineering/ Production Engineering
Industry: FMCG, Electronics, Textiles, adhesives, Footwear
Experience
7-9 years in Industrial Engineering, preferably in FMCG / high-speed manufacturing
Good to have - Lean / Six Sigma (GB/BB) or MOST/MTM certification preferred
Role Objective
To drive productivity improvement and manpower optimization through time & motion study, work measurement, and process improvement, ensuring efficient and cost-effective manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Work Measurement & Time Study
- Conduct time & motion studies using Stopwatch / MOST / MTM techniques
- Establish and maintain standard times for all operations
- Perform line balancing and cycle time analysis
Manpower Optimization & Productivity
- Define scientific manpower norms for production lines
- Drive manpower rationalization and productivity improvement initiatives
- Track and improve labor productivity and line efficiency
Process Improvement
- Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities
- Implement Lean tools (Kaizen, 5S, VSM, Standard Work)
- Improve methods, workflows, and operator efficiency
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities
- Maintain IE dashboards and productivity reports
- Present insights and recommendations to plant leadership
Layout & Line Optimization
- Support line design, capacity validation, and layout optimization
- Improve material flow and reduce handling losses
Cross-functional Coordination
- Work closely with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams
- Support new line / product setup with IE inputs and manpower planning
Key Skills
- Strong expertise in Time Study, Work Measurement, Line Balancing
- Hands-on shopfloor experience
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel / data analysis

- Improvement in Manpower productivity & line efficiency
- Reduction in manpower cost per unit
- Accuracy and implementation of standard times
- Sustained process improvements and cost savings
