Job Profile Summary-
The Industrial Engineer – General, Manufacturing is responsible for implementing and sustaining best‑in‑class Industrial Engineering, Process Planning and Lean Manufacturing practices across the assigned plant(s) and supplier locations.
The role ensures efficient utilization of resources through optimized layouts, balanced lines, robust capacity planning, and standardized processes, while driving productivity, cost, safety, and quality improvements in alignment with business objectives.
Job Description-
- Industrial Engineering & Process Planning
- Implement and sustain Industrial Engineering and Process Planning guidelines, standards, and procedures across manufacturing operations.
- Develop, deploy, and continuously improve Processes, methods, IE tools, and Lean methodologies to improve productivity, cost, and delivery.
- Perform capacity calculations, takt time analysis, line balancing, and efficient line design to meet production demands.
- Drive layout optimization for new lines, line expansions, and re-layouts with focus on flow, ergonomics, safety, and space utilization.
- Conduct detailed time studies using work measurement methods.
- Track and report IE performance indicators such as productivity, utilization, efficiency, line losses, and improvement benefits.
- Support planning and monitoring of departmental and factory budgets related to equipment, and productivity initiatives.
- Expertise in Welding and Printing as special processes.
- Lean Transformation & Continuous Improvement
- Apply Lean manufacturing principles using tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Standard Work, and waste elimination (Muda, Mura, Muri) to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Identify improvement opportunities and lead productivity, cost reduction, and cycle time improvement projects.
- Support and promote 3i / ideas management initiatives, coordinating employee engagement and implementation of ideas.
- Cross-functional topics
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors for process improvements, new developments, and capacity enhancement.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as Manufacturing, Quality, SCM, Maintenance, EHS, and Engineering to support change management activities.
- Automation & Digitalization
- Coordinate and support equipment procurement, automation, and digitalization projects across factory.
- Generate requirement specifications (RS) documentation in collaboration with development and technical support team.
- Support installation, commissioning, stabilization & ramp-up of new equipment’s
- Evaluate opportunities for digitization of IE related processes
- Documentation, Standards & Compliance
- Ensure process documentation, SOPs, and work instructions are developed and maintained as per ISO and internal requirements.
- Support audits (internal/external) by maintaining updated department related documentation.
- Follow and adhere to change management process.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial / Mechanical / Production engineering or equivalent.
- 7-10 years of experience in Industrial Engineering / Process Planning in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands‑on experience with Lean Manufacturing, capacity planning, and layout design.
- Experience in equipment industrialization, automation, or digital projects is preferred.
- Certifications like MOST, ISO 9001, ISO 45001 (Integrated management system) have added advantages.
