Role Description The Industrial Engineer Cutting role is a full-time, on-site position based in Noida. This role involves analyzing cutting room processes, optimizing marker efficiency, and setting up standardized methods for fabric utilization to reduce waste and improve productivity. The Industrial Engineer Cutting will collaborate with production, quality, and design teams to plan cutting layouts, balance workloads, and ensure adherence to technical specifications and timelines. Daily responsibilities include time and motion studies, capacity calculations, process documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on cutting operations. The role also includes training cutting staff on best practices, monitoring performance through data-driven metrics, and supporting implementation of new technologies or tools to streamline manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct time and method studies for all cutting room operations.
- Calculate and monitor cutting SMV/SAM and productivity.
- Plan daily cutting targets based on production requirements.
- Monitor cutting efficiency, manpower utilization, and machine utilization.
- Improve fabric consumption and minimize fabric wastage.
- Coordinate with Fabric Store, Planning, Production, and Quality departments for smooth workflow.
- Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly cutting performance reports.
- Monitor cut panel input versus production plan.
- Optimize cutting room layout and workflow for maximum efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety practices.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train and guide cutting supervisors and operators on best industrial engineering practices.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Cutting Industrial Engineering.
- Expertise in Time Study, Method Study, SMV/SAM calculation, and Productivity Analysis.
- Knowledge of Marker Planning and Fabric Consumption.
- Understanding of Cutting Room Operations, Fabric Spreading, and Cutting Processes.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Apparel Production, Textile Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–8 years of experience in the Cutting IE function within a garment manufacturing company.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in men's formal wear, trousers, blazers, or woven garment manufacturing will be an added advantage.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Up to ₹45,000 per month (Negotiable based on experience).
