Job description: Industrial Engineer
Location: Krishnagiri, Hosur
Experience: 8–10 Years
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or related field
You Will
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to drive manufacturing excellence, productivity enhancement, and process optimization across shop floor operations. The role will focus on line balancing, manpower optimization, lean implementation, cycle time reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives to support scalable EV manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical capabilities, hands-on manufacturing exposure, and a continuous improvement mindset aligned with high-growth EV production environments.
To Be Successful, You Will Be Expected To
- Drive line balancing activities to improve operational efficiency and optimize manpower utilization.
- Conduct time and motion studies, cycle time analysis, and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Lead productivity improvement initiatives across assembly and manufacturing operations.
- Support capacity planning activities based on production targets and future scaling requirements.
- Optimize plant layout and workstation design to improve material flow and operational efficiency.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing methodologies such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and continuous improvement practices.
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing KPIs including productivity, efficiency, utilization, downtime, and takt time adherence.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve throughput and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, SCM, and Manufacturing Engineering teams for process optimization initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement projects focused on cost reduction, process standardization, and operational excellence.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and manufacturing standards across shop floor operations.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, SOPs, and operational improvement documentation.
You must have any or a combination of any of the following skills:
- Strong understanding of Industrial Engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience in line balancing, manpower planning, and productivity improvement.
- Expertise in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Good knowledge of capacity planning, layout optimization, and process flow analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and production data analysis tools.
- Exposure to ERP/MES systems will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication and cross-functional stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
