ABOUT AERODEL
AeroDel is a product innovation company focused on designing and developing mechanical, electromechanical, and digitally integrated products across industrial, consumer, and connected ecosystems.
We work at the intersection of engineering, usability, and manufacturability, building products that are robust, intuitive, and production-ready. Our approach emphasizes translating complex engineering systems into clear, usable, and scalable physical products.
We operate as a lean, execution-driven team where industrial design plays a critical role in bridging engineering intent, user interaction, and manufacturing reality.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for an Industrial Designer who can take ownership of the end-to-end physical design of products, spanning mechanical systems, electromechanical assemblies, and connected devices.
You will convert product requirements into practical, manufacturable design solutions, ensuring alignment with engineering constraints, usability needs, and production processes. You will work closely with mechanical, electronics, and firmware teams from concept through production.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Product Design & Development
Lead product design from concept through production across mechanical and electromechanical systems
Develop design solutions grounded in engineering feasibility and manufacturing processes
Create concepts using sketching, CAD, and physical prototyping, with clear design rationale
Define product architecture, form, and usability aligned with system requirements
Design enclosures, assemblies, and interfaces for integrated hardware systems
Collaborate with mechanical and electronics teams to ensure seamless integration of components, PCBAs, wiring, and assemblies
Incorporate DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles early in the design process
Resolve constraints related to thermal management, structural integrity, sealing, and tolerances
Support development of robust, scalable product architectures
- Manufacturing & Vendor Collaboration
Work with vendors, toolmakers, and manufacturers to ensure design intent translates into production
Define specifications for materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes (plastics, metals, elastomers, etc.)
Participate in prototype builds, pilot runs, and production validation
Support issue resolution during tooling, sampling, and scale-up phases
- Design Communication & Documentation
Create clear and structured design documentation including:
CAD models and assemblies
Exploded views and interface definitions
Material and finish specifications
Communicate design intent effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and business teams
Innovation & Product Thinking
Explore emerging trends in industrial design, materials, manufacturing, and product engineering
Contribute to improving internal processes for design, prototyping, and product development
Bring practical, execution-focused thinking to product decisions rather than purely aesthetic inputs
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Design, or related field
Experience
1–3 years of experience in industrial/product design
Experience working on mechanical or electromechanical products
Exposure to consumer products, industrial equipment, or connected devices preferred
Experience taking a product from concept to production is a strong advantage
WHAT WE OFFER
Opportunity to work on diverse product categories beyond a single domain
High ownership across the full product lifecycle
A practical, execution-focused environment with strong engineering collaboration
Competitive compensation with potential for long-term growth
Access to prototyping tools and development infrastructure
YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON IF…
You think in terms of how things are built, assembled, and scaled
You naturally balance design intent with engineering constraints
You are comfortable working across mechanical and electromechanical systems
You prefer hands-on product development over purely conceptual work
You can move quickly from idea → prototype → production-ready design
