Sustainability Coordinator

We are looking for a sustainability coordinator who can help implement and oversee our sustainability practices on our treks. At Indiahikes, we strongly believe that everyone must trek, as trekking deeply impacts the mind, body and spirit. But if trekking must be done, we believe that it must be done sustainably. We must leave mountains better than we find them. Here is where our Green Trails Initiative comes in. To leave the mountains better, we're always introducing futuristic systems and processes. All our operations and policies are built keeping in mind sustainability aspects. These focus on minimising the impact of trekking. The work—ideating and implementing sustainable systems—is creative and incredibly fulfilling. But it is as challenging as it is fulfilling. There are multiple obstacles on the way, which you will have to overcome and fight for the environment. For this role, we are looking for someone who feels deeply about sustainability and has ingrained sustainable practices in their own personal lives. The role of a Sustainability Coordinator is that of a leader. It requires you to manage and mentor your team to reduce the impact of trekking in the mountains.

Since 2008, Indiahikes has defined the future of trekking. Most trekking trails, like the Roopkund, Rupin Pass, Buran Ghati, Kedarkantha, Kashmir Great Lakes, Tarsar Marsar, Brahmatal, Warwan Valley, Phulara Ridge have been brought out by Indiahikes. Modern safety systems like the microspikes, pulse oximeters, radios and oxygen on treks have been introduced in Indian trekking by Indiahikes. Our Green Trails project has revolutionised how trekking trails are preserved in India. Finally, the Indiahikes Experience has transformed the lives of thousands of trekkers in India. They have gone home with a deeper understanding of their mind, body and spirit. Today, more than 25,000 trekkers trek with Indiahikes every year. Indiahikes is also India's largest trekking organisation.
