About the role

Profile

The BIRAC Technical Department is part of the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), and plays a significant role in promoting and supporting the technology development in biotechnology. The department is responsible for evaluation and screening of proposals, grants and funds management, ensuring the growth of biotechnology innovations and fostering a collaborative approach toward addressing challenges in sectors like healthcare, agriculture, and environmental sustainability.

The young professional/intern should be an enthusiastic and motivated individual who would be someone passionate about biotechnology and eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • To be able to coordinate with experienced professionals in the technical department to support various activities.
  • Assist the technical team in managing and executing projects related to schemes run by the team.
  • Support the development of technical documents, reports, and presentations.
  • Conduct literature reviews and compile technical data for ongoing and future projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of landscaping and RFP documents.
  • Help organize and participate in technical events, workshops, and seminars.
  • Provide administrative support to the technical team as needed.
  • Any other activity of the technical team and work with the team for timely delivery of assigned tasks.

Duration

Initial appointment will be for a period of Six months which may be extended subject to satisfactory performance.

Money

Between Rs.30,000/- to Rs.50,000/- depending upon qualifications & experience and shall be governed by the policy of Young Professional in BIRAC.

Qualification

Masters in any area of Life Sciences/Molecular Biology/Genetics/Biotechnology/Industrial Biology/Agriculture and associated areas/any other related area.

Experience

Post qualification, at least one-year work experience with national/international funding organizations or start-ups.

Desirable

  • Experience in research paper/concept note preparation, data analysis using statistical tools.
  • Excellent writing, oral communication, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Additional certifications or experience in related areas is a plus.
