Legal Associate – Bengaluru/Gurgaon India

Due to the continued growth of our office, we are seeking a detail-oriented and versatile Legal Associate based in India to support our India office. This role involves providing Indian regulatory and corporate legal advisory support across client engagements, internal governance matters, and cross-border projects.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Regulatory & Advisory Support
- Provide legal research and analysis on Indian laws and regulations, including corporate, commercial,
employment, licensing, and sector-specific regulations.
- Support client engagements requiring regulatory interpretation and compliance assessments.
- Assist in preparing legal opinions, regulatory memoranda, and advisory reports for clients.
- Monitor regulatory developments in India and provide updates to internal teams and clients.
- Corporate & Commercial Matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts (e.g., service agreements, NDAs, partnership
agreements, vendor agreements).
- Support corporate structuring, company incorporation, licensing, and compliance matters.
- Assist with due diligence exercises for transactions and investment projects.
- Liaise with external counsel, regulators, and government authorities where necessary.
- Dispute Management
- Support on disputes, including liaising with internal teams, external counsel, counterparties, regulators,
and government authorities where necessary.
- Assist in internal fact-finding and preparation of materials relating to disputes or potential claims.
4. Regional & Cross-Border Coordination
- Support cross-border projects involving multiple jurisdictions.
- Coordinate with regional teams to ensure consistency in legal and regulatory positioning.
- Assist in harmonizing templates, risk frameworks, and compliance processes across the region.

Internal Governance & Risk
- Support internal compliance, risk management, and governance processes.
- Maintain legal documentation and ensure adherence to firm policies.
- Contribute to the development of internal legal templates and best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a reputable university. Admitted to the Bar.
- Minimum 2–5 years of relevant legal experience (preferably a combination of practising and in-house experience).
- Strong understanding of Indian corporate and commercial law.
- Experience in regulatory advisory, compliance, or transactional support preferred.
- Strong communication skills in English
- Strong drafting, analytical, and research skills.
- Commercially aware with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
