About the role
We are looking for a freelance Power BI Developer for a short-term engagement to design and develop secure, industry-standard dashboards connected to Snowflake. This role will focus on implementing effective data security measures to control user access, optimizing data models, and ensuring high-quality, real-time reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Understand client KPI and reporting needs, and build the required semantic/data models in Power BI.
Develop necessary DAX measures and M queries to support calculated fields and business logic.
Create interactive dashboards and visualizations with appropriate filters, slicers, and usability features, adhering to industry best practices.
Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and Column-Level Security (CLS) using Snowflake secure views or masking policies.
Proactively identify and communicate potential issues or data gaps during development.
Actively participate in demos, reviews, and incorporate feedback promptly.
Skills Required
2+ years of experience with Power BI (creating and optimizing reports, dashboards, and data models).
Experience connecting Power BI to Snowflake and working with large datasets.
Strong expertise in implementing RLS and CLS in Power BI.
Ability to deliver professional, user-friendly dashboards aligned with industry standards.
Proactive mindset and strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently, understand business needs, and deliver high-quality results.
