Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Index Sales Specialist to join our growing team. This role focuses on driving revenue growth through the promotion and commercialization of index solutions for benchmarking and research along with a strong emphasis on passive investment strategies, including ETFs, Index Mutual Funds, and other benchmark-related mandates.
You will be responsible for building and managing relationships with Asset Managers, ETF issuers, Insurance companies, Wealth Managers, and Institutional Investors, with the goal of increasing adoption of our Index Products and Services. Your deep understanding of passive investing, portfolio construction, and index methodologies will enable you to act as a trusted advisor to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales and business development efforts for index solutions, with a primary focus on ETFs and passive investment strategies.
- Identify, cultivate, and close new index licensing opportunities with ETF issuers, asset managers, and other financial institutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams (product, research, legal, marketing, and operations) to deliver tailored index solutions that meet client needs.
- Act as the main point of contact for key accounts, ensuring excellent client service and deepening engagement.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, ETF flows, and competitive landscapes to identify business opportunities and inform client conversations.
- Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and thought leadership on index strategies, market trends, and performance.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, client events, and seminars as a subject matter expert on indices and passive investing.
- Work closely with marketing and research teams to produce sales materials, white papers, and campaigns supporting index usage.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; MBA or CFA is a plus.
- Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in financial services, with a strong track record in Index sales or ETF distribution or Index Product development.
- Deep understanding of the passive investing ecosystem, including ETFs, mutual funds, index methodologies, and portfolio construction.
- Strong client-facing experience and ability to manage C-level relationships.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a consultative sales environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret performance metrics, portfolio data, and market dynamics.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience at a major Index provider or AMC.
- Knowledge of ESG, thematic indices, or custom index solutions is an advantage.
- Familiarity with index licensing frameworks and regulatory considerations.
- Experience working with CRM systems.
