Position Summary
The Sales Intern will support the Broker Services and Sales teams across small group (2–99), mid-market (100–999), and new business segments. This role provides hands-on exposure to sales operations, broker management, and performance reporting within a leading healthcare organization.
The intern will work directly with Sales Directors and Managers to support reporting, CRM data management, and operational tracking while gaining a comprehensive understanding of IBX’s sales organization and broker-facing strategy.
Key Responsibilities provided but not limited to:
Sales Reporting & Analytics
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of weekly sales reports across:
- 2–99 Retention
- 100–999 Retention
- 2–999 New Business
- Support tracking and analysis of:
- Sales performance trends
- Renewal activity and pipeline movement
- Prospecting and new business opportunities
CRM Management & Data Integrity
- Support CRM (Salesforce or internal systems) data entry and maintenance, including:
- Updating account activity and opportunity records
- Cleaning and validating data for accuracy and completeness
- Assisting with pipeline and renewal tracking
- Ensure timely updates to support sales team reporting and decision-making
Operational Tracking & Issue Resolution
- Track and report on open service tickets and internal requests, including:
- Monitoring resolution timelines
- Identifying trends or recurring issues
- Supporting follow-up and escalation tracking
- Assist with reporting on service levels and operational efficiency
Broker & Performance Insights
- Support analysis of broker performance metrics, including:
- Production and retention trends
- Engagement and activity levels
- Market opportunities and gaps
- Assist in compiling broker reporting for leadership review and planning
Prospecting & Pipeline Support
- Help build and maintain prospect lists across target segments
- Support tracking of open opportunities and pipeline status
- Assist in organizing and reporting on prospecting activity
Leadership Exposure & Cross-Functional Learning
- Participate in internal sales and leadership meetings to gain exposure to:
- Strategic planning and execution
- Broker and customer engagement strategies
- Cross-functional collaboration with underwriting, operations, and product teams
- Assist with ad hoc analysis and special projects supporting leadership initiatives
