Role Summary:
The Incoming Inspection Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all raw materials, components, and purchased parts received from suppliers meet the company’s quality standards and specifications before they are released to production. This role involves performing inspections, analyzing data, handling non-conformities, and supporting supplier quality improvement initiatives.
Role and Responsibilities:
1. Inspection & Quality Control
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on incoming materials and components using calibrated measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMM, gauges).
- Verify conformance of received items against engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase orders.
- Perform sampling inspections based on AQL or other sampling standards (e.g., ISO 2859-1, ANSI Z1.4).
- Record and maintain inspection data and reports accurately in the quality management system (QMS).
2. Nonconformance & Corrective Action
- Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming materials; issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Collaborate with the purchasing and supplier quality teams to address supplier-related quality issues.
- Participate in root cause analysis and verify the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
3. Supplier Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Provide feedback and technical support to improve supplier performance.
- Contribute to supplier audits and qualification processes when needed.
- Supplier audit action plan and conducting supplier audit
- Manage supplier performance and communicate every month to supplier for the same.
4. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain inspection records, certificates of compliance, material test reports, and traceability documents.
- Ensure inspection processes comply with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 13485, or relevant industry standards.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing inspection documentation and records.
- Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering (or related field).
- Diploma or associate degree with relevant experience may also be considered.
- Experience Required:
- 3–6 years of experience in quality inspection or quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with measurement tools, gauges, and inspection equipment.
- Knowledge of GD&T, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Skills Required:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other quality management systems.
- Proficient in MS Office and quality software (e.g., Minitab, SPC tools, ERP/QMS systems).
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision
