Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager – Inbound Tours to lead the planning, development, and execution of tailor-made travel experiences for international clientele.
The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge of Indian destinations, luxury and experiential travel, strong client-handling capabilities, and expertise in designing customized FIT and group itineraries for global markets.
This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication, leadership, operational, and relationship management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Inbound Tour Planning & Operations- Design and develop bespoke itineraries for international FITs, groups, special interest tours, and luxury travelers.
- Prepare detailed costings, quotations, and travel proposals.
- Handle end-to-end tour operations, ensuring seamless execution and high service standards.
- Coordinate with hotels, transporters, guides, airlines, and destination partners.
Client & Partner Relationship Management
- Manage relationships with international travel agents, tour operators, and direct clients.
- Understand client preferences and curate personalized travel experiences.
- Conduct timely follow-ups and maintain strong professional communication.
- Represent Discovery Journeys India at travel fairs, networking events, and B2B meetings when required.
Destination Expertise
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of Indian destinations including wildlife circuits, luxury trains, cultural regions, Himalayan experiences, and experiential travel offerings.
- Stay updated on travel trends, sustainability practices, and new experiential products.
Leadership & Coordination
- Lead and mentor junior operations and reservations staff.
- Coordinate with internal departments including sales, marketing, accounts, and management.
- Ensure operational efficiency and adherence to company standards.
Responsible Tourism & Sustainability
- Integrate sustainable and responsible travel practices into itinerary design.
- Promote local experiences, eco-conscious stays, and community engagement wherever possible.
- Support the company’s regenerative tourism initiatives and sustainability commitments.
Skills & Qualifications
- 10–12 years of experience in inbound tourism operations with a reputed DMC or travel company.
- Strong expertise in creating bespoke itineraries for international travelers.
- Excellent destination knowledge across India.
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
- Ability to manage high-value international clients professionally.
- Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, itinerary preparation, and travel management systems.
- Leadership ability with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Passionate about travel, culture, wildlife, and experiential tourism.
- Understanding of luxury and experiential travel markets.
- Strong attention to detail and service excellence.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Prior experience handling European, UK, US, or Australian markets will be an advantage.
