Role Description The In-Room Dining Executive is responsible for overseeing all aspects of in-room dining service, ensuring timely, accurate, and courteous delivery of food and beverages to guest rooms. Day-to-day tasks include taking and confirming orders, coordinating with kitchen and service staff, monitoring presentation standards, and resolving guest requests or concerns promptly. The role involves maintaining hygiene and safety standards, managing in-room dining inventories, and updating menus or promotions as needed. The In-Room Dining Executive also trains and guides team members, supports billing accuracy, and contributes to overall guest satisfaction. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Merlis Hotels in Coimbatore.
Qualifications
- Experience in food and beverage service or in-room dining operations within hotels or similar hospitality environments.
- Strong guest service orientation, with the ability to communicate clearly, politely, and professionally in person and over the phone.
- Knowledge of basic food safety, hygiene practices, and standard operating procedures in hospitality settings.
- Ability to coordinate with kitchen and service teams, manage multiple orders, and maintain attention to detail under time constraints.
- Basic understanding of billing processes, order recording systems, and point-of-sale (POS) tools.
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to handle guest issues and special requests efficiently.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or lead role in hospitality is an advantage; formal training or a diploma in Hotel Management or a related field is preferred.
Knowing regional language (tamil) is an added advantage.
