Role Description The In-Room Dining Executive is responsible for coordinating and delivering food and beverage service to guest rooms in a timely, courteous, and efficient manner. Day-to-day tasks include taking and confirming orders, liaising with the kitchen and service teams, setting up trays and trolleys, and ensuring accurate, well-presented delivery to rooms. The role involves explaining menu items, addressing guest requests and feedback, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and handling billing and order documentation. The In-Room Dining Executive also supports inventory checks, restocking, and maintaining in-room dining equipment and areas. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Merlis Hotels in Coimbatore.
Qualifications
- Experience in hotel in-room dining, room service, or food and beverage operations, with strong focus on guest service.
- Good communication skills in English and local languages, with a polite and professional telephone and in-person demeanor.
- Ability to manage multiple orders, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of basic food and beverage service standards, menu terminology, and hygiene and safety practices.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a positive attitude and willingness to assist other departments when required.
- Basic numeracy and billing skills, comfortable using order-taking systems or point-of-sale software.
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer-facing roles preferred; formal training in hotel management or hospitality is an advantage.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as per hotel operational requirements.
