Role Description The In-House Counsel will provide end-to-end legal support for PayAssured’s debt recovery and collections operations in Bengaluru. This full-time, on-site role involves drafting and reviewing contracts, notices, and settlement agreements, as well as advising operational teams on legal risks and compliance requirements. The position includes coordinating with external counsel when needed, managing litigation and dispute resolution, and maintaining documentation related to cases and regulatory filings. The In-House Counsel will collaborate closely with the compliance team to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations, support policy development, and provide training on legal and regulatory updates to internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and debt recovery regulations, with experience in B2B collections or financial services preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including contracts, legal notices, and settlement agreements.
- Experience managing disputes and litigation, including coordinating with external counsel and handling case documentation.
- Solid understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks, risk management practices, and internal policy development.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and sound legal judgment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to support cross-functional teams and maintain professional client relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B) from a recognized institution; enrollment with the Bar Council of India required.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, manage multiple matters simultaneously, and handle time-sensitive issues responsibly.
