As a SAP consulting generalist at PwC, you will focus on providing consulting services across various SAP applications to clients, analysing their needs, implementing software solutions, and offering training and support for effective utilisation of SAP applications. Job Description & Summary: As a director, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
Program & Delivery Management
- Lead and govern large-scale SAP programs (S/4HANA, ECC, SAP Landscape Transformation, Cloud, BTP, Ariba, SuccessFactors, IBP, BW/4HANA).
- Own program scope, objectives, milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
- Ensure adherence to SAP Activate / Agile / Hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Manage interdependencies between SAP workstreams (FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, EWM, TM, HCM, Basis, Security, Data, Integrations).
- Drive end-to-end program planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
Stakeholder & Business Alignment
- Act as the primary interface between business leaders, IT leadership, system integrators, and SAP.
- Translate business objectives into executable SAP program roadmaps.
- Run Steering Committee (SteerCo) meetings and provide executive-level reporting.
- Proactively manage expectations, risks, and escalations.
Financial & Commercial Management
- Own program budgets, forecasts, and cost controls (CapEx / OpEx).
- Manage vendor commercials, contracts, SOWs, and change requests.
- Ensure financial transparency and benefits realization.
Risk, Quality & Governance
- Identify, assess, and mitigate program-level risks and issues.
- Establish strong governance frameworks, quality gates, and compliance standards.
- Ensure adherence to security, audit, regulatory, and internal control requirements.
- Drive test strategy (SIT, UAT, Regression) and deployment readiness.
Team Leadership & Vendor Management
- Lead multi-vendor, multi-geography teams including functional, technical, and integration partners.
- Mentor project managers, stream leads, and PMO resources.
- Ensure effective resource planning and performance management.
Transformation & Change Management
- Drive organizational change management (OCM) in collaboration with business stakeholders.
- Oversee training strategy, user adoption, and process transformation.
- Support post-go-live stabilization and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications
SAP Expertise
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and business processes.
- Experience with multiple SAP modules (Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain, HCM).
- Solid exposure to SAP integrations (PI/PO, CPI, APIs), data migration, and SAP Basis concepts.
- Experience working with SAP Activate methodology.
Program & Leadership Skills
- Proven experience managing $10M+ SAP transformation programs.
- Strong program governance, risk management, and escalation handling.
- Excellent executive communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and drive results in complex environments.
Methodologies & Tools
- Program/Project Management: Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid
- Tools: Jira, MS Project, SAP Solution Manager, ALM, Azure DevOps
- Familiarity with ITIL, SDLC, DevOps concepts
Mandatory skill sets:
Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and business processes.
Experience with multiple SAP modules (Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain, HCM).
Solid exposure to SAP integrations (PI/PO, CPI, APIs), data migration, and SAP Basis concepts.
Experience working with SAP Activate methodology
Preferred skill sets:
