Role Description The Import Export Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. This role is responsible for coordinating and managing day-to-day import and export activities, including documentation, customs clearance procedures, and compliance with international trade regulations. The specialist will liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, transport partners, and clients to ensure timely and accurate movement of goods. Daily tasks include preparing and reviewing shipping documents, monitoring shipments, resolving operational issues, and maintaining records in line with regulatory and company requirements. The role also involves supporting clients with import export queries, optimizing processes for efficiency, and contributing to smooth end-to-end consignment handling.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Import, Export, and Import Export operations.
- Practical expertise in Customs Brokerage and customs clearance procedures.
- Understanding of International Trade regulations, documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage shipment documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and regulatory forms.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills for interaction with clients, customs authorities, and logistics partners.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and capability to handle multiple consignments simultaneously.
- Proficiency with MS Office and basic logistics or ERP software; familiarity with Indian customs systems is an advantage.
- Relevant diploma or degree in logistics, international business, commerce, or a related field; prior experience in a customs house or freight forwarding environment is preferred.
