Team Overview: The Product Realization team works on new RAIN RFID reader product introductions and maintains existing products through: DfX review, reliability evaluation testing, in-depth testing of hardware and firmware, document release to manufacturing, worldwide regulatory approvals, factory process optimization, functional test systems, factory yield improvement, customer return analysis, and alternate component selection. Our goals are to deliver high-quality products to customers and to drive continuous improvement with our contract manufacturer. Our team of product engineers, regulatory engineers, test engineers, and lab technicians directly impact the Impinj financial bottom line. This is an outstanding opportunity to develop antenna testing code for Impinj's brand new anechoic chamber. You will own and build the code from the ground up. You will have some guidance from the team's senior engineers. Product realization and design team engineers will use your code regularly to test antennas. You will create a valued asset for Impinj. What you will do: Collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams to understand and document test requirements for the anechoic chamber Develop python code to test antennas in the anechoic chamber Develop python code to organize, process, transform, and visualize data Create standard test routines for several of Impinj's antenna products Test and verify your code as you develop it What you will bring: Must be working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering or related engineering or scientific field, preferably with focus on Radio Frequency (RF) or electromagnetics Must be able to work on-site at Impinj's Beacon Hill office location at least 3 days per week Must have some experience coding in Python Experience with scikit-rf, data visualization, and large data manipulation is a plus Understanding of complex number math, the Smith chart, scattering parameters, and antenna basics like gain, polarization, etc.
