Manager, Analytical Lab 

SUMMARY

The Manager, Analytical Labs is responsible for managing the people and processes involved in supplying quantitative and qualitative lab results to regional operations teams. This role will oversee the daily operational functionality of the lab while identifying and improving efficiencies of throughput and workflow. Analytical Labs are focused on the routine analysis that comes from the sampling of fluids in the field that are directly related to the monitoring of products applied in the field.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct analysis of the outcomes from the application of the product chemistry related to application of existing product lines.
  • Provides direction, training and development to assigned Regional Analytical Lab Chemists and Technicians.
  • Manage lab and personnel administrative functions.
  • Responsible for managing lab performance metrics including accuracy, safety, turnaround time and efficiency.
  • Ensure objective, repetitive lab analysis.
  • Order and maintain adequate inventory of lab supplies
  • Maintain lab equipment and schedule maintenance to ensure reliability and accuracy.
  • Maintain records of Lab QC and data integrity checks.
  • Work with Regional Operations on data needs.
  • Develop, maintain and manage lab budgets.
  • Maintain documentation of training records and ensure cross-training is occurring.
  • Monitor workflows and redirect work as or adjust staffing as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor's degree in science related field (e.g., chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or related discipline)
  • 4 or more years of lab experience.
  • 2 or more years of oilfield lab experience.
  • 2 or more years of management experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in laboratory analytical methods and equipment.
