The Data Engineer will work closely with a multi-disciplinary agile team to build high quality data pipelines driving analytic solutions. These solutions will generate insights from the organization’s connected data, enabling the advancement of data-driven decision-making capabilities of the enterprise. This role requires deep understanding of data architecture, data engineering, data analysis, reporting, and a basic understanding of data science techniques and workflows. The ideal candidate is a skilled data / software engineer with experience creating data products supporting analytics solutions. Finally, possessing strong problem-solving skills, working as part of a technical, cross-functional analytics team, and desiring to solve complex data problems and deliver the insights to enable analytics strategy.

Responsibility

Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to ingest, process, and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources.

Implement and orchestrate ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data is transformed and loaded into data warehouses, data lakes, or other storage solutions.

Create data products (e.g. data models, relational databases) for analytics and data scientist team members to improve their productivity

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, data models, and database configurations.

Conduct training sessions and provide support to end-users and other team members on data access and usage.

Foster a culture of sharing, re-use, design for scale stability, and operational efficiency of data and analytical solutions

Develop and implement data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring processes to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

Collaborate with data governance teams to establish and enforce data standards and best practices.

Partner with business analysts and solutions architects to develop technical architectures for strategic enterprise projects and initiatives.

Keep project leadership apprised of work effort status, key issues and risks impacting project timelines and deliverables.

Domain Expertise

  • REQ: 3+ years of varied experience working in data engineering or architecture role
  • REQ: Hands-on pipelines development experience on platforms such as SSIS, ADF, Glue, Informatica, Fortran, Spark
  • REQ: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, and SQL
  • REQ: Experience with managing pipelines operations, failures and quality issues including Airflow for orchestration
  • REQ: Ability to think abstractly and scalability to conceive metadata driven pipelines.
  • REQ: Understanding of ETL and data architecture concept, such as Delta updates, Type II tables, STAR Schema.
  • REQ: Confidence with managing code lifecycle in Azure DevOps or GiHub
  • Experience developing and maintaining data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
  • Experience with developing Pipelines with SQL frameworks such as DBT
  • Experience with pipelines for AI applications, transforming document data (Txt, Json, Xml) to load into vector databases
  • Epic Caboodle certification may be required based upon client need and will be communicated when the job is opened.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering preferred
  • Passionate about data-driven development, reliability, and experimentation

Travel: Client dependent

At Impact Advisors, we are committed to transparency and equity in our compensation practices. The compensation for this role includes a salary range of $90,000 – $140,000 For salaried positions, this role may also be eligible for an annual performance bonus. Additional benefits and perks may also be available, depending on the position and employment terms.

This range reflects consideration of several factors, including skills, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs.
