Role Overview
The Senior DevOps Manager will lead enterprise DevOps strategy, governance, technical standardization, and operational excellence. This role requires deep hands-on Azure DevOps expertise combined with strong leadership, mentoring, and enterprise architecture alignment.
This is not a support role - this is a transformation leadership role.
Roles & Responsibilities
DevOps Strategy & Governance :
- Define and implement enterprise DevOps roadmap
- Establish CI/CD standards across all product teams
- Define branching strategies (GitFlow / Trunk-Based)
- Define release governance & environment promotion models
- Implement policy-based governance in Azure DevOps
- Ensure audit compliance (SOX-style traceability)
Azure DevOps Engineering Leadership
- Design and optimize Azure DevOps pipelines (YAML-based)
- Standardize reusable pipeline templates
- Define artifact versioning strategy
- Implement secure service connections & approvals
- Drive Infrastructure as Code adoption (Terraform/Bicep)
Hands-on Experience In
- Azure DevOps Repos, Pipelines, Boards, Artifacts
- Multi-stage YAML pipelines
- Azure Key Vault integration
- Managed Identity
- RBAC model design
Experience With
Cloud & Infrastructure Automation (Azure)
- Azure Resource Manager

- Integrate SAST / DAST into pipelines
- Implement secret management policies
- Enforce code scanning standards

Process & Agile DevOps Maturity
- Improve DevOps operating model
- Remove bottlenecks between Dev, QA, Infra, and Security
- Establish DevOps CoE (Center of Excellence)
- Define RACI model
- Mentor engineering managers and architects
- Improve communication & cross-team alignment
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Lead DevOps engineers
- Upskill team through hands-on mentoring
- Review pipelines and architecture
- Define performance metrics
- Build a strong DevOps culture
This Role Must

Required Experience
- 12-18 years total IT experience
- 6+ years in DevOps leadership
- 5+ years in Azure DevOps
- Experience in enterprise or regulated domain (Insurance / BFSI preferred)
- Experience managing multiple product teams
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Azure DevOps (Advanced level)
- YAML pipeline design
- Azure Cloud (IaaS + PaaS)
- Terraform or Bicep
- Git strategy expertise
- CI/CD standardization
- Release governance models
- Observability implementation
- Security integration in pipelines
- Containerization (Docker, AKS)
Preferred
- Azure certifications (AZ-400, AZ-305)
- Experience with API governance
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Experience in multi-team enterprise setup
- Experience in insurance domain
