Head of Infrastructure and Projects

The role entails managing all the aspects of existing infrastructure and future construction projects at IITMRP including: 1. Electrical Supply: Substations, Cabling, UPS, Diesel Generators, Solar panels 2. Heating & cooling needs of the building; air-conditioning works (HVAC) and optimizing energy needs using sensor and control mechanisms 3. Managing water supply & treatment, sewage treatment plants, rainwater harvesting, and sanitary arrangements etc. 4. Fire Fighting & Fire protection system, Fire alarms, lifts maintenance. 5. Civil infrastructure including external facade comprising structural glazing; site development including roads and paths, provision of pavement and drain, rainwater harvesting etc. 6. Waterproofing of various building elements 7. CCTV, Access control, A/V Systems, IT network with switches. 8. Managing relationship with suppliers, statutory bodies; ensuring certifications and compliance. 9. Plan, Design, and Execution of the above infrastructure; preventive maintenance to ensure high quality of infrastructure facilities and uninterrupted services to clients. 10. Strategic planning, Budgeting, and leading vendor negotiations.

IIT Madras Research Park (IITMRP), a section 8 company established by the IIT Madras, Chennai is operating from 1st Floor, Block E, IITM Research Park, Kanagam Road, Tharamani, Chennai – 600 113. It facilitates collaborative research between academia and industry and commercialization of such research. The IITM Research Park houses 200+ Indian companies, MNCs, and Startups – who collaborate with IITM faculty and students. The IITMRP is housed in 11.42 Acres of land with a built-up area of 15.75 lakh Sq. Ft. across five buildings with 10 to12 floors. The campus has a food court, a 1000-seater Auditorium, conference rooms, exhibition halls, Lounges with A/V facilities, research labs, and usual office spaces. These spaces have sophisticated facilities for cutting edge experiments and associated civil, electrical, and mechanical units.
