Description
The Supplier Quality Manager will direct and manage the SQA Group, including supplier audits, supplier PPAP submission, supplier quality program evaluations, and ongoing supplier product quality.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Establish, maintain, and control the policies in the Supplier Quality Department.
2. Coordinate daily activities of the Supply Management Department.
3. Direct and follow up on supplier-related issues found at receiving and track the resolution with suppliers.
4. Make supplier visits for audit and evaluation on an ongoing basis.
5. Review supplier quality programs via audit, evaluation and documentation for qualifications to supply new products.
6. Work with QA Manager and Product Engineering Manager to enhance all supplier quality levels.
7. Work with Product Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to define new and ongoing product designs to suppliers and customers.
8. Initiate and follow-up on proper and complete PPAP documentation with current and new suppliers.
9. Responsible for core team support on new part and procurement of components from new suppliers.
10. Work with suppliers to develop a teamwork approach and attitude between ITA and supplier.
11. Maintain frequent contact and open dialog with all departments on material and product issues associated with ITA suppliers.
12. Review all subordinates’ job performances in accordance with established merit program guidelines.
13. Develop and maintain a supplier rating system utilizing all quality-related information and quality database.
14. Establish departmental annual expense budgets and control department functions to operate and stay within budget.
15. Review and support supplier cost reductions via quality improvements and part improvements.
16. Work on developing and improving subordinates work related skill and develop cross training.
17. Track cost recovery efforts related to purchased component quality.
Requirements
- Bachelors in Engineering or related field
- 2-3 years experience in supervision
- 5-10 years in related field
