About the role

Position Summary
 

 The Production Lead is a key member of the plastic pallet manufacturing team, acting as a bridge between team members and the Production Supervisor. This role involves overseeing daily production activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed, meeting production goals, and maintaining a smooth workflow. The Production Lead also serves as a backup supervisor, taking on leadership responsibilities when the Production Supervisor is unavailable.

 

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Oversight
• Assist the Production Supervisor in coordinating and managing daily operations within the production team.
 • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to ensure proper procedures and standards are followed.
 • Act as the primary point of contact for team members, addressing questions, concerns, and challenges in real time.
 • Step into a supervisory role as needed, ensuring continuity of operations.

 Safety Compliance
 
• Enforce compliance with all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
 • Conduct regular safety checks and address any potential hazards immediately.
 • Participate in safety training sessions and ensure team members are adequately trained.
 • Report safety incidents or violations promptly and assist in implementing corrective actions.
 
Production Efficiency
 • 
Assist in planning and scheduling daily production tasks to meet operational goals and deadlines.
 • Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve productivity.
 • Ensure all equipment and tools are in proper working condition and report any maintenance issues.
• Conduct quality checks on products to ensure they meet company standards.
 
 Documentation and Reporting
 • 
Track and document production metrics, including output, downtime, and waste, to support process improvement initiatives.
 • Maintain accurate records of inventory, materials used and finished products.
• Communicate production status and issues to the Production Supervisor in a timely manner.
 
 Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement
 
• Identify and resolve production-related issues efficiently to minimize disruptions.
 • Collaborate with the Production Supervisor to develop and implement process improvements.
 • Encourage team feedback and innovation to optimize production processes.

 
General Duties
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with 5S principles.
 • Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
 • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
 
Qualifications and Skills
 
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in plastic pallet production. Leadership experience is strongly preferred.


• Skills:
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
 • Knowledge of safety regulations and manufacturing best practices.
 • Proficient in troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
 • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Familiarity with production software and data tracking tools.
 
Work Environment
 
• Regular exposure to a manufacturing environment with noise, heat, and moving machinery.
 • Must adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements at all times.
• Requires standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.) for extended periods.
 
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
 
• Achievement of daily production targets.
 • Compliance with safety and quality standards.
 • Minimal downtime and efficient resolution of production issues.
 • Positive team morale and effective leadership.
