IGN is seeking a passionate and experienced Technical Director to join our rapidly growing games division. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the technical vision and strategy for our portfolio of games, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and innovative solutions across our platforms. You will work closely with our game development teams, providing technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to deliver exceptional gaming experiences. Key Responsibilities: - Establish and maintain the technical direction and roadmap for our games, aligning with business and creative goals - Partner with game development teams to design, implement, and optimize highly scalable, performant, and secure game systems - Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, methodologies, and tools to enhance our game development capabilities - Mentor and develop our engineering talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of game features - Participate in project planning, risk assessment, and resource management to ensure successful project delivery - Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, and adapt our technical strategies accordingly Required Skills and Experience: - 10+ years of experience in a senior technical leadership role in the games industry - Demonstrated expertise in architectural design, software engineering best practices, and technical project management - Strong understanding of modern game technologies, including game engines, rendering, networking, and data systems - Proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable, and innovative game solutions - Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills - Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
