We are currently looking for aTraveling Project Manager to join our iENG team located at our headquarters in Chesterfield, MO. Our ideal candidate for a Traveling Project Manager is someone who has 0-5 years of experience as a Mechanical, Plumbing and/or General Construction Project Manager or in a similar role. This person will be responsible for managing complex mechanical and plumbing projects, ensuring timely, budget-compliant, and satisfactory completion. They will be personable, have high energy, and will bring a strong sense of ownership, leadership, and commitment to our projects.
Primary responsibilities for iENG’s Traveling Project Manager include:
Managing and coordinating mechanical and plumbing construction projects from conception to completion.
Fully understanding all projects in-depth, enabling yourself to: order equipment and materials, develop billings, complete and manage RFIs and change orders, as well as prepare and review submittals etc. and distributing that information to the project team.
Developing & issuing RFPs (Request for Proposal), reviewing prospective subcontractor proposals, issuing subcontracts, effectively managing subcontractors and their scope of work to meet project milestones and overall schedule.
Maintaining a working knowledge of general conditions, work scope and specifications of project contract/subcontract.
Scheduling and planning ahead for both short- and long-term project milestones and goals.
Estimating and selling projects of various types: plan/spec, design/assist, design/build.
Overseeing the preparation of fabrication shop work packages and possess a strong understanding of the content including detail drawing review, material take-off and buyout and man-hour fabrication budget.
Working hand in hand with our company’s Safety Department to analyze, manage and mitigate project risks, as well as ensure safety on the jobsites. This includes overseeing all onsite and offsite construction to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
Ensuring all contractual performance conditions are met throughout project execution
Primary qualifications for iENG’s Traveling Project Manager include:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Project Manager in Mechanical, Plumbing, and/or General Construction, preferably in a multi-site or traveling capacity, is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or proven working experience in the Mechanical Construction industry is required.
Knowledge of HVAC and Piping Systems, building products, construction details/design and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards is preferred.
Familiarity with construction management software packages---overall strong computer skills are preferred.
Proficient in P6 or Microsoft Project & project scheduling in general.
Self-motivated with excellent time and project management skills.
Possesses a strong personal commitment for long-term and meaningful goals.
Ability to work within an environment with deadlines while having to multi- task with changing priorities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously out of state.
Demonstrate confidence in their knowledge, are committed to researching the answers and finding the right solution for things they do not know.
