Role Description The IELTS Faculty role is a full-time, on-site position based at Medcity International Academy’s Kochi centre. The faculty member will deliver high-quality IELTS training through classroom sessions, workshops, and individualized coaching, focusing on Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking modules. Day-to-day responsibilities include lesson planning, creating and updating study materials, conducting mock tests, evaluating student performance, and providing detailed feedback to help learners achieve target band scores. The role also involves using digital and app-based learning tools, maintaining accurate academic records, collaborating with other trainers to standardize teaching practices, and supporting students with exam registration and preparation strategies. Participation in ongoing professional development, curriculum enhancement, and quality assurance activities is expected.
Qualifications
- Strong command of English language skills, including grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and academic writing suitable for IELTS preparation.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching IELTS or other English proficiency exams, with the ability to train learners across Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking components.
- Ability to design lesson plans, develop instructional materials, and adapt teaching methods for diverse proficiency levels and learning styles.
- Proficiency in using digital learning platforms, multimedia tools, and online assessment methods to support classroom and hybrid delivery.
- Excellent classroom management, mentoring, and feedback skills, with a learner-centered, inclusive, and non-discriminatory approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field; relevant teaching certifications (e.g., CELTA, TESOL, TEFL, Cambridge/IDP IELTS Trainer) are highly preferred.
- Prior experience in coaching candidates for international exams or working in a test-preparation institute is an advantage.
