Job Title: Manual Tester / QA Engineer – General Insurance Domain
Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Manual Tester with experience in the General Insurance domain to ensure the quality, accuracy, and compliance of insurance applications. The role involves validating policy lifecycle processes, claims handling, underwriting systems, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and business requirements.Key
Responsibilities:Analyze business requirements related to insurance products such as motor, health, property, and travel insuranceDesign and execute test cases for policy lifecycle processes (quotation, underwriting, policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, cancellations)Perform testing on claims management systems including FNOL (First Notice of Loss), claim processing, and settlementsValidate premium calculations, policy rules, and underwriting guidelinesConduct functional, regression, integration, and system testingIdentify, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA or similarCollaborate with business analysts, developers, and domain experts to clarify requirements and resolve defectsPerform data validation and database testing (SQL queries)Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and business rulesParticipate in UAT support and production validation activitiesPrepare and maintain test documentation (test plans, test cases, RTM, defect reports)Required Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)2–4 years of experience in manual testing with exposure to General Insurance domainStrong understanding of insurance concepts (policy lifecycle, claims, underwriting)Knowledge of STLC, SDLC, and defect lifecycleExperience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM)Basic knowledge of SQL for backend/data validationGood analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and documentation abilitiesEffective communication skills to interact with business and technical teamsPreferred Qualifications:Experience working on insurance core systems (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek, or similar platforms)Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologiesExposure to API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI)Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in insuranceBasic understanding of automation testing concepts
Experience Level:Junior to Mid-level (1–4 years preferred)
