Introduction
IBM Research takes responsibility for technology and its role in society. Working in IBM Research means you'll join a team who invent what's next in computing, always choosing the big, urgent and mind-bending work that endures and shapes generations. Our passion for discovery, and excitement for defining the future of tech, is what builds our strong culture around solving problems for clients and seeing the real world impact that you can make. IBM's product and technology landscape includes Research, Software, and Infrastructure. Entering this domain positions you at the heart of IBM, where growth and innovation thrive.
Your Role And Responsibilities
The IBM Germany Lab is offering internships for MSc and PhD students interested in experiencing the research environment in IBM Quantum.
IBM Quantum is an industry-leading initiative to build universal quantum computers for business, engineering, and science. This effort includes advancing the entire quantum computing stack and exploring promising application areas. Our goal is to make quantum computing useful and broadly accessible.
Based in the Quantum Algorithms Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing research at the intersection of quantum circuit transpilation and quantum error mitigation with a strong focus on utility-scale quantum computing.
During your internship, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging research problems as part of a diverse team in a global research organization. Our cross-disciplinary approach to research, coupled with the curiosity of our researchers and engineers, offers a unique opportunity to participate in scientific and industrial research. Interns have authored papers, filed patents, and contributed to open-source projects and IBM products during their time with us.
