Job Title: IBM i (AS/400) Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced IBM i (AS/400) Specialist with strong expertise in COBOL/400 and SQL/400, along with hands-on experience in payments systems. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining, enhancing, and supporting critical financial applications, ensuring high reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and support applications on IBM i (AS/400) platform
- Write and optimize programs using COBOL/400, CL, and SQL/400
- Handle production support, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
- Work on payment processing systems including:
- SWIFT (MT/MX messages)
- Fedwire
- ACH (Automated Clearing House)
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business, QA, and infrastructure
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance in financial systems
- Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and enhancements
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of experience in IBM i (AS/400) development
- Strong programming skills in COBOL/400 and SQL/400
- Good knowledge of CL programming and DB2/400
- Hands-on experience in banking/payments domain
- Understanding of SWIFT MT/MX, Fedwire, and ACH transactions
- Experience in debugging, performance tuning, and system support
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to modern integration tools/APIs
- Knowledge of RPG/ILE (added advantage)
- Experience working in global banking environments
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and reliability
